The Chair Environmental Microbiology (Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Szewzyk) offers the following service courses for the degree course "Food Chemistry", "Chemistry" and "Brewery Technology"  (teaching language: German):

Principles of Biology for Food Chemistry, Chemistry and Brewery Technology

Overview of structure and function of important plant and animal groups, principles of genetics, physiology, introduction in ecology. Review of important farm animals and plants, vermin and their combatting (parasites, vermins in foodstuff, weeds)

Performance evaluation: oral examination

Required subject for degree course "Food Chemistry" (2nd semester).

Principles of microbiology, botany and zoology using selected examples considering food sepcific aspects.

2 week block course during semester break; preliminary talk at the beginning of the semester.

Presentations by the students. Discussion to improve and expand the knowledge gained in the lecture course (VL L 700) and practice course (PR L 701).
